The Best Holocaust Books

The justification for the statement that this work could be amongst the best holocaust books is from the approbations. I quote one:

As a British Indian Muslim who grew up in Saudi Arabia, and went to an English boarding school, I had heard so many divergent sides of this terrible chapter in our world’s history. Your talk cut straight to my heart, and I want to thank you for the honor of listening to you. I believe that your work will ensure that we will never forget, and never go back. Thank you once again.

Holocaust Survivors

P. W. wrote the following about one of Mrs. Kaufman’s lectures: “Listening to you has been an honor. I am the last generation to have the opportunity of hearing the truth directly from not just a Holocaust survivor, but an angel who survived to remind us of what is important, who we are and where we came from. I hope I can be a messenger.” Indeed Mrs. Kaufman’s being herself amongst the holocaust survivors makes the work that much more special.

Child Survivors

Mrs. Kaufman, herself a child survivor, writes:

“The military dictator of Romania, Ion Antonescu, decreed that death was too good for the Jews. We must first be humiliated, tortured, starved, dehumanized, and brutalized. After that, we would be shot, that is, if death didn’t claim us first. We had to sleep or on the ice-covered ground or in pigsties and stables without any windows. The pigs were luckier than we were because they were fed. I learned to steal food from the pigs. When caught, I was beaten, but it didn’t stop me from trying again.

The final mortality rate was eighty percent. Very few of us reached our destination — Transnistria. Jews who weren’t hanged or beaten to death fell ill and died from the cold, starvation, and disease. Life became so unbearable that many victims simply gave up hope and died. It is impossible to describe the horror, pain, and grief, the utter hopelessness that I felt when I lost all the members of my family one by one.” The child survivors from that time were recipients of Heavenly miraculous intervention.
